Woo-Hoo! So happy for you getting the book launched. Is the trip to the coffee shop a reward for this accomplishment? If so I hope there will be more than one. Think big!

I, for one, enjoy hearing about the accomplishments of friends and family, Gail, so never feel shy on my account! (BTW, a search on your name on Amazon shows that you are unique as an author! Also that Amazon’s search algorithm has some *very* odd result permutations...)

By unique, do you mean I am the only Gail Boenning? Amazon asks me..."Did you mean Gail Boning?"

I am delighted when I search Wandering words and a Nate the Great: The Case of the Wandering Word shows up. I love Nate the Great books by Marjorie Sharmant. There is a character named Rosamund who has 4 cats. I digress... it is lovely synchronicity though.

Thanks Jack! As I told Matthew above... after coffee, I made a soft intro of WW to a local bookshop. 😜

Hooray indeed Matthew! Thank you. Guess what? After coffee this morning I stopped with my companion in the small independent bookstore nearby and offered a "soft intro". The owner said she will take a look when I have a print version in hand. 🥳

I'm thrilled to hear this. Why wouldn't she? She's an independent bookstore owner and you're an independent author. You make each other better 📚

Yes! I can understand her wanting to see a print version...she does not know a thing about me and has no idea what the product looks like.

She did issue a heavy sigh when I said I was using Amazon KDP — her big competition. I answered that it’s the easiest way for a self-publisher to economically get a book to market.

She understood.

There is potential learning for both of us. :)

The potential for learning is with us everywhere. You're right to observe that she doesn't yet know you. If you haven't already, I hope you'll email her a link to the place where she can learn a little more about you every day. Maybe then by the time you place the book in her hands she'll already be a fan.

I did not think of that Matthew — thank you! I will get a email off to her today. 😁
