Same here. Brrrr. I bought Kevin a Kitchen Aid for Christmas (he's wanted one for years!), and I think it's a great day for him to use it for something warm. He keeps making ice cream with it!

I DO like ice cream! haha! I'm not sure if I ever enjoyed the homemade variety. The view through the window is nice...sunny and sparkly.

Ten below! Oh no!!

Ice needles strike thrice

Fingers and lips and noses

Gives bare flesh a bite

(Sorry; no muses)

So, zero’s a heat wave? I’d choose “in” as the pumpkin pie bakes. Sipping piping hot Rooibos tea...

Even Henny seems to understand it is too cold to be out!

Perhaps a ski mask for Henny is in order? Just don't let her wear it while in Australia. They prohibit wearing full face coverings there to avoid alarm to the general public.

🤦‍♀️Can you imagine dressing Izzie in winter gear?

A challenge! A former small Heinz 57 variety rescue used to love dress up. First time was an Uncle Sam get up for Fourth of July! I think booties would drive Izzie wild, followed by head gear.

Reached zero yet?

It was a balmy 2 when we went to the dog park this morning. Walking the perimeter, believe it or not, I worked up a sweat under all my polyester fluff. :)

How to layer and ventilate while cold weather backpacking was an acquired skill! It seemed odd to unzip the outer mountain parka, unzip the insulated vest beneath, and then unbutton the heavy chamois shirt under that, leaving only a silk long john top and a heavy wool pullover sweater intact. Temperatures in the teens and a stiff wind out of the north made all the layers seem vital. Plowing through snowdrifts and carrying a 60+ pound backpack certainly generated lots of heat and thus the unzipping, etc.

Better to sweat than suffer frostbite!
