P a r a d e Twolegs…What’s a parade? Collar? Leash? I’m in! Over the last several months of quarantine I might have mentioned a new camaraderie with neighbors on walks….neighbors I usually only wave to through window glass. At around 6:15 am on weekdays, neighbors Dave, Jake, and Mark meet up with retrievers Addie, Riley and Gracie to walk. Henrietta rises up onto her hind legs like a circus bear as we approach the group. The scene tickles me.
Happy Fourth! The ping pong ball drop seems like a treat for Henrietta, too! Community? So often we hear of apartment dwellers not knowing next door neighbors. Why? No front porch! Not joking. The developer of “Seaside” in the Florida panhandle was certain of it, and required every home to have not only a front porch but minimum separation from the sidewalks. People sit on their porches. And greet passers by. And beautiful pastel paint schemes for the homes.
Happy 4th, Gail & Henri! I hope somebody had enough hands free for a photo or seven!
