Thought provoking exchange! JK’s quote speaks to Zeitgeist, one definition of which is “the general intellectual, moral, and cultural climate of an era.” In most cases we don’t alter the Zeitgeist of our time. Rather, we are molded by and conform to the prevailing Zeitgeist.
One example of how one individual’s thoughts and behaviors did alter the Zeitgeist for an entire nation is that of Mohandas Gandhi. “Satyagraha” references Gandhi’s methods of passive resistance to British rule/dominion over India. Later, MLK, Jr. and others in the civil rights movement here in the 60s advocated for a similar approach to effect change.
JK himself acknowledged that his remarks were “obvious” yet I’d wager a couple nickels that a vast majority of humankind today are not cognizant of that construct.
And based on today’s image, I thought we might hear about some philosophy from “Herbie The Love Bug” and how Calliope’s sides nearly split from laughter! 🤔
I made a stop at the garden center yesterday. I needed one small annual to fill a hole in a planter. I got a failing little annual from the clearance shelf... 53 cents. I have confidence I can turn it around. Anyhow... snapped the VW picture inside the store.
My nickels are with yours. Hard to understand something that you haven't been taught?

Isn't the K quote kind of a blinding flash of the obvious?
Yes. Found it in an old notebook of mine… I wrote it down years ago. Re-wiring takes time? 😁
Does it?
That has been my experience. Why do you ask? Do you have an example of a no-time change?
Every second, every day change is occurring whether we acknowledge or not.
Yes... Heraclitus and the river. And yet... it takes many years to carve a canyon?
K said "time is change". What did he mean by that?
