So... It has come to my attention that in contrast to English — which is weighted toward nouns — the Native Americans used languages based in verbs — flowing over fixed.
In nature... when something stops growing (flowing?) it is on it’s way toward death?
It is really fascinating to consider that the words we use are shaping our lives and potential.
Examples abound. I don't have the Hebrew handy but the word "Hospital" is for House of sickness". There is a segment of the community that substitutes the Hebrew word for "House of Healing"
sickness=noun and healing=verb Reminds me of yoga teacher Sarah who reminds her students to speak of the their healing, rather than broken or grouchy body parts.
The muses and I will start observing our language. 🧐
It just struck me now that the personalities and actions of the Muses could be akin to watching you through a kaleidoscope! And today I had a keen sense of how your incorporating them into BFN mirrors your love of connection with folks from a wide array of backgrounds and viewpoints. On the relish tray, the mention of green olives sent me back to my early years, and green olives with some foreign "red stuff" taking the place of the olive pit. The pits!
A kaleidoscope — haven’t thought of a kaleidoscope in a long time. I think N might have had one when he was young.
You just reminded me of my early days of connection on Medium — it was so fresh and energizing to connect with people from around the world. It still is.😁 I am grateful for the internet!
Honestly... I don’t know if I have EVER eaten a green olive. I’ll report back on any future findings.😉
