But if you have nothing at all to create, then perhaps you create yourself. ~ Carl Jung
I watched a TEDx talk about clean language.
What’s that?
As best I understand, it’s questioning without leading…no small feat…because we all fancy ourselves to be in the know.
Around minute 13:30, Caitlyn Walker tells the story of a young delinquent who is filled with red every morning before he leaves the house—drunk father, smelly unwashed clothes, no food, no bus fare—red. By the time he gets to school, red is near to overflowing. Often, it does.
This young man goes on to…create himself.
Recognizing that most days he’ll already be late for school, he decides he’ll start taking a pause—creating space—at the duck pond. There, he’ll drink in enough blue to make himself purple.
And then I think I’ll be able to control my temper.
I like purple too!
Gorgeous.
