“Glutinous Rice Flour?” asked the muse of many questions. “And… rose water?”
“Woodman’s online shopping app clearly indicated both items could be found in aisle 12 and it still took us an eternity to find them.”
“Eternity is a bit of an exaggeration, don’t you think?” asked Urania. “When thinking, being, or doing something new… it always takes a bit longer. We’re not making our memorized, practiced, and eagerly consumed Toll House chocolate chippers.”
“Rose water smells like… an old grandma’s perfume.” Thalia wrinkled her nose. “I sure hope the cookies don’t taste like Geranium Oderata, Rose of No Man’s Land, or Chanel No 5.”
“Let’s live on the edge, invest a little time, and report back… the question is ours to explore?”
Calliope wondered what Born Free Newsletter readers were exploring… and sent up a little wish for them to share in the comments section.
Exploring: got a new drone. Old one is no longer software supported, and the batteries not only cannot hold a charge but they became warm and developed rounded sides while charging. 😳 New one comes in a case that holds the drone, controller, 3 batteries, charger, and accessories — and could fit in our glove compartment. (The box for the old drone could hold ten+ of the new one.) AND the camera is awesomely better. I could go into more detail [“Oh dear goddess no!” exclaimed Thalia] but let’s just say I hope to have fun exploring its capabilities, in our neighborhood and on travels.
Music, Cal.
Specifically, sitar music, in a 50+ year flashback to first hearing Ravi Shankar during my first year of college. Today I watched his daughter, Anoushka, performing on YouTube.
And moments ago, while walking our dog, I observed a limpkin (local wading bird that eats apple snails) approach a mother Canada goose that has been incubating her eggs.
Natural curiosity met with equanimity.
