I have a hunch "quiet" doesn't mean "not busy." Quiet days are not all bad.
I did enjoy FaceTime with the family in NJ. Ryleigh is growing like a weed. My son expressed gratitude to be home with his wife and daughter on Father's Day. His work requires odd "work weeks" and alternating between day and night shifts. I remember my dad also working 3 different shifts for his first job at Owens Illinois-Plant #17, a glass container factory. 7 to 3; 3 to 11; 11 to 7. A lot of tip-toeing was required when dad slept in the daytime. We didn't understand the complexity/fatigue of such work hours. And he didn't complain.
I don’t recall my dad ever complaining about his job either. He worked in the engineering department of a factory that made timers for small appliances. I was able to work there for three summers. Each year I tried out a different shift. Third was the strangest for sure!
Lovely!
Any Father’s Day gatherings in your plans today? Whatever they might be, I feel certain the spirit of today’s BFN will be present. Happy day.
Quiet day… As you know I visited my dad during the week. 🍓
Hope you get to meet up with your son, DIL, and granddaughter via the airwaves.

Thanks for sharing the story about your dad!
