I confess. At first I suspected typist/painter was experimenting with chiaroscuro technique! Of course a dimly illuminated early morning snow angel (or even a simple flop) isn’t a bad second!

Our pooch is less discerning in what she plunders. Finding the door ajar to the room with the litter box is her great obsession.

When are the frogs served?

The chiaroscuro showed up in today’s moon! Thanks for challenging my vocabulary… seems to be a word a painter should have access to.🤔

You’ve heard the phrase : Eat the frog first… Well I just read an article somewhere challenging the idea. It seems some prefer their frogs later in the day. 🤷‍♀️ Rilke: Live your own questions!

And I was oblivious to the business of eating frogs. General advice or more for the camp of creatives? Writers, painters, Muses?

Someone named Brian Tracy wrote a book… Looks business-y. 😉

Deb is writing notes to people (it’s what she does — she has taken on the task of writing notes of thanks, sympathy, or just general greeting to church family or family-family). I am reading (y’know, people’s newsletters and stuff 😉) and writing.

I remember your snow cone story! I’d forgotten Mara could be a bad girl when she felt like it; apparently her successor’s behavior has uplifted Mara in my memory.

Hi Jack! Your response elicited a belly laugh because when I read the linked story I had the SAME thought. 😂 Mara has grown into sainthood status since Henny arrived. Perhaps unwarranted?

Hope you and Deb enjoyed a wonderful Sunday. Henny and I are just home from a tromp though the fields… Mother Nature sent snow to help with my exercise intentions. 👍🏻 Do you have snow yet?

We had snow, barely, for two days. Enough to make the little ones happy for snowballs and snow-persons. Yesterday was upper-50s! 😳 But today it's barely topping freezing and Deb has started a Winter Grocery List — all the things we want to have on hand in case we get snowed in and want to make soup or chili or some other warm, comforting meal.

ME: So want to head to the store after lunch?

DEB: BRRRRR! Too cold today! Maybe tomorrow.

Haha! I love soup and have started making up my own concoctions. Last night it was carrots, celery, onion, red pepper, black beans, pinto beans, spicy cilantro sausage, and spinach. It was pretty good!

Do you and Deb have a favorite soup?

I already sense the days lengthening.

Not a favorite soup, so much. Deb goes through phases; currently she wants pumpkin chili (basically chili with chicken and canned pumpkin) showing up in the mix more. We also have soup mixes we like (although both are on-hand "soup mixes" are actually beef chili), both ordered (Frontier Soups) and purchased on whims as we go places (once we start going places again, that is). We love the day-long simmering, either crock pot or stove top; the testing and modifying; the "cheese or no cheese?" question when serving (more rhetorical, really, cause we love cheese).

Slow Cooker Pumpkin Chili https://www.themagicalslowcooker.com/slow-cooker-pumpkin-chili/ (We used chicken; we plan to add a cup of ½&½ next time, because we like creamy. )
