Aw! Love that you are highlighting your A to Z books again! 💚

I’m reading “Girl & Dog” right now. While I love it, once again it’s deceptively simple format hides a depth that would be too much for our 4th grade niece (who doesn’t—not can’t, just doesn’t—read) to fathom. I will share it with Deb when I finish.

I’m delighted to hear Girl & Dog are in your hands! Design-wise, I feel it is my best work so far.

As for your niece, maybe let her check it out when you’re finished with it? I gave a copy of Flit, Flutter, Float to my yoga teacher. She said her youngest daughter, who does not like to read, enjoyed the short alliterative poems. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don’t know if you clicked the link in my post that leads to The Tale of Despereaux? Authors Kate DiCamillo uses some pretty intense themes and vocabulary to tell the fairytale. She also breaks the 4th wall to encourage readers to look words up. 🤯

And all of that said, some never take to reading, finding other energizing pursuits instead.

All kinds of kinds!

Thanks Karen!

My friend Chris Palmore made the trailer for me back in 2021. Today’s mouse theme gave me an opportunity to give it new life.

Have you ever read DiCamillo’s The Tale of Despereaux? The story and the way it is being told is knocking my socks off! So good!

Our new pups bring us laughter daily (actually, hourly) :)

2024 was our Year of Making: we made a new life (retirement), we made a new house (it's finally done!!!), and we made a new family (by adding our two pups). 2025 will be the beginning of this new adventure. I'm not sure we're dashing into it but we are progressing steadily.

As for reading: I read a lot of Substacks. Maybe as the pups mature I'll be able to read a book again.

Cheers!

Hi Scott! What a year of making -- new life, new home, new family. 😊

Oh those active puppies... I can almost smell their breath and feel their sharp baby teeth. I can't believe our Henrietta is almost 6.

There is much to read here on Substack. I've subscribed to a few new letters recently and am enjoying them much.

One can discover remarkable people while doom scrolling. I’m certain that’s what just happened!

I’m hoping this little balloon-lifted mouse appeared in your email inbox Gary?

If this appeared in a doom scroll, it’d be like be one of those elementary school what-does-not-belong worksheets. 🤭
