Pulling garbage carts to the road, I stopped and chatted with my neighbor. Her three year old came out to join mom.
“Where are your clothes?” she asked.
He offered no reply, pointed at a spider and she said, “Yup….spider. A daddy long legs.”
The naked boy hopped into his battery powered jeep and drove back to his garage.

Hope in America is alive and well.
Garbage-to-the-street day! Ditto... my dog helped too. In “Woodstock” Joni Mitchell sang, “We are stardust, we are golden. And we’ve got to get ourselves, back to the garden.” She didn’t capitalize “garden” but I think it was a reference to Eden. Your neighbor’s son is in that state of being. I? At times, more past than present. While not an “Ozzie and Harriet” sort of past, the changes occurring in my early adult life felt positive and affirming. Presently there is enough commotion in the world, our nation, my state, and small city that my “feel” of things is less positive than my younger years. Approaching the time when I revert to stardust and compost, perhaps life inherently takes on a more grim countenance. But today I’m on the right side of the grass. Happy Fourth!
Cute!
