What if everyone woke up tomorrow and believed...the Universe is a friendly place
Can we lead by example?
the bicycle
pristine
as if it had been delivered
by reindeer pulled sleigh
the bicycle
leaned
against trailside maple
the bicycle
untethered
unattended
I looked around and wondered…Bathroom break? Stretch? Taking photos?
Not a biped peddler in sight…
Who leaves their shiny trail two-wheeler, free for the taking on a Sunday morn?
Was it the fit and athletic runner I saw a mile or so back? Training trails by foot and pedals?
dunno…
Whoever it was
surely believes
the world
is a friendly place.
Liberty, when it begins to take root, is a plant of rapid growth. ~George Washington
When we change our perspective everything else changes too. I once heard this tale, maybe you have too. The local town was advertising for an executive position. People were coming into town to interview. One woman stopped at the fueling station before her interview. She asked the clerk, What sorta town is it here. He said are you looking to move her. She replied, yes I am on my way to a job interview that will be a great increase in both position and money if I get the job. The clerk said, What sorta town do you live in now. She replied, Oh it is lovely and everyone is nice and friendly. It is more than a community, more like a family. Everyone goes out of their way to help one another. The gas station attendant said, that is exactly what you will find here.
An hour later a man stopped to put gasoline in his car. He and the clerk engaged in some small talk. It came out that the man had come to interview for the job in town and would be looking to relocate if he got the job. He asked the clerk what kind of community is this and what sorta people live here. The clerk said, what kind of city are you going to relocate from? The man said it is sort of cold. People don't even know their neighbors. Nobody makes eye contact. The children are all out of control. The clerk looked at the man and said, that is exactly what you will find in this community.
Why did the clerk give x2 different answers? Because it depends on your perception in the world. You can never escape yourself. <3
