“Hilarious!” exclaimed Urania.
“Amazing…,” added Thalia.
“Too funny!”
“Kinda weird…,”
Calliope looked up from her jigsaw… “Hidden in plain sight…connections many miss because they are too busy…or distracted by untrained muses.”
“All muses are not created equal!” said Urania.
“Look…to get hearts and brains working together — opening windows and doors — it takes effort, finesse, and persistence,” said Calliope.
“Like what she should be doing with the fourleg?” asked Thalia.
“Yes…well…Henny is pretty independent…she’ll sort herself out given the right environment…she just needs the right length of leash,” said Calliope.
“Look at that tiny pebble next to the coffee bean. It poked left heel, arch, toes and…us!” said Urania.
“Everybody has a pea under their stack of mattresses?” asked Calliope.
“That’s why we’re here…,” said Thalia.
“Hey…when’s the last time she made split pea soup?” asked Calliope.
The Princesses and the Pea-bble! Just a lame attempt to weave together the muses (yes; like juggling cats), the pebble, and today’s newsletter. A wordsmith I am not.
You make it all look so easy! The core theme, to me, is how all manner of preoccupations distract us from seeing and participating in what is around us.
I must confess, that after reading Karbie’s reply today I realize how small my own pesky pebbles really are. Perhaps the sound of James Taylor’s smooth, kind voice will indeed deliver a healing message. For us all.
Tried to highlight that sentence about hearts and brains. Ha! Had a stroke on Saturday, and am working on both right now. Doing well, but tire easily. I'm reminded that my quest for balance is life-long.
