“Is that tired cliché the best we can do?” asked Calliope.
“Tired?” Urania raised her brow. “It’s a classic…from the bible.”
“Well then…let’s just get on with the story, shall we?” Thalia added her voice.
“The commercial…,”
“Local news promising unbiased reporting during the playoff game…bias…a buzzword that fails to notice that when you point at another, you really should examine the fingers pointing back at you?” Calliope asked.
“Planks in the eyes,” Urania said.
“Can they not recognize that even the stories they choose to report on is a form of bias?” asked Calliope.
Like author Daniel Pink wrote, “To sell is human…even if it what they’re selling is perspective,” Thalia shared.
“All human conflicts can be reduced to the struggle over whose realities will prevail—Lee Thayer, right?” asked Calliope.
“Yes, and…he said this too…” added Urania…
Most people launch into things with the shallowest understanding—they do not read the instructions. We need the understanding. Measure twice, cut once. Thoroughly equipped—mentally and emotionally—before put to the test.
“Now…I’m going to measure and cut myself a thick slice of cinnamon raisin bread.”
Lightly toasted, with lots of butter!
