When placed in command, take charge. ~Norman Schwarkopf
tiny fear tears
stung eyes
December afternoon
we drove away from hospital
baby bundled
bunny blanket
Was car seat installed right?
………
when short legs
challenged by long walks
begged relief
I teased
small frame
on my back
one day child
you’ll carry me
………
‘lil rhino
purple pole
parents tied hooks
threaded worms
untangled
messy middle
while child grew
mama learned
experienced life’s truest joy
there’s
got to be
balanced action
between reel and fish
a sweet spot
twixt too tight
too loose
perfection is folly
boring, too
………
kayaks in tandem
until letting go
felt right
solo
he paddled upstream
and down again
How did I pass that time alone?
………
memorable day
surprise!
eyes spied
motored Lund on drive
when can we go?
day came
when truck, boat, and boy
flew solo
………
yesterday
with ease and confidence
one who
has traveled
far
carried me
………
tiny tears
sting my eyes
no fear
lots of love
………
Without (much) help, my pink Zebco closed-bale rod and I managed to catch 3 bluegills, one largemouth, and one tiny (spunky) smallmouth.
Riding home in passenger seat
clothes wet from down pour
I asked
When can we go again?
Now why did this get me all teared up?
Beautiful! Every word of it. Hurrah!
