“Cross training?” asked the muse of many questions.
“How fun!” exclaimed Thalia.
“UWTB?” asked Calliope. “What’s that?”
“A handy little acronym we learned in The Sirens of Titan by Kurt Vonnegut — stands for the Universal Will to Become,” said Urania.
“Huh — What do you think that’s about?” Calliope continued with her curiosities.
“Sci-fi, Martians, and the moons of Saturn?” asked Thalia.
“I’m pretty sure the sci-fi speak was used as a metaphor,” said Urania. “Let’s mix in a little Wallace Wattles from The Science of Being Great.”
“WW? That’s like Wandering Words!” Thalia exclaimed.
“Not really,” said Urania with a grin. “Wattles proposed there are two mental attitudes… one, like a football — resilient and reacts strongly to force, but originates nothing; two, like a flowing spring… power comes from the center and radiates force.”
“That’s a power combo of a thought generator… ,” said Thalia.
“Universal Will to Become, football, flowing spring… it’s like a kindergarten worksheet… which one does not belong?” asked Calliope.
“Food for thought?” asked Urania.
“Yes, and… We’re hungry,” said Thalia and Calliope.
Wow! Like dodgeball!! The ideas come at a fast pace, keeping this reader back on his heels...
My goal for today? To be the football, tossed into the flowing spring. Onward!
