One gray morning and
A hot cup of coffee with
Thoughts of future love
~Ari Lopez
Dear Ari,
I held you… when you were fresh, squishy, and new to this world.
I watched you grow.
I remember when you wanted glasses so much that you pretended you couldn’t see. I thought it was hilarious… Your mom, not so much.
I recall your sweetness one New Year’s Eve long ago when you sucked your thumb in solidarity with my tyke who was unwilling to give up his comforting habit.
I have pictures of you… running through a sprinkler, eating birthday cake, making mud pies, hugging dogs, riding the train at the zoo, driving an ATV, laughing… Sharing light through your beautiful smile.
One day soon, I’ll have pictures of you walking down an aisle into one of life’s great adventures. What a joy it will be to take part in your celebration!
Thank you for shipping a sharing of yourself in Flourishing Fictions. I love the connection between your current life stage and the possibilities shared in the story of Longing. It’s a true joy to watch your life’s path.
You make me want to be a better person.
Gratitude and Love,
Gail
