Dear red, white, and blue lawn jewelry,
You are popping up everywhere!
And…I want to thank you for the opportunity to practice mindfulness…thinking beyond my ever so limited perspectives.
As the fourleg and I drive or stroll around our community, I think about how humans are all made up of the same basic ingredients. Mostly water!
Is it our thoughts—composed of past experiences and future worries—that cause most of our troubles?
I focus on how my neighbors lovingly send their children off together on the same yellow bus.
I notice blooming sedum and chrysanthemums, tended with care.
I delight in twoleg/fourleg romps with balls and frisbees on the same lawn where you now stand.
I remember that even though you make a bold statement, you are nothing but a thing.
Humanity is so much bigger than you and the names you carry.
We’re responsible for our culture…and I suspect many of us want better than our current state of affairs.
It’s our job to cover each other’s blind spots…to build a better world for all of us.
Look at the photos above—taken within moments of each other by two different photographers. Two visions of the same scene.
You are the world, and the world is you. Therefore you have a tremendous responsibility.
~J. Krishnamurti
A wise teacher shared these question with me…
What will I do today to use my gifts to make a positive difference in someone’s life?
What is one question if asked and answered that would make it impossible for me to remain as I am?
What did you change your mind about today?
What would a person who truly loved themselves and others be doing right now?
What would I be doing today if I truly believed that my life mattered and that I could have anything that I want?
Lawn Baubles…thanks for reminding me that healthy debate is our responsibility.
I believe we can cover each other’s blind spots coming from a place of generosity and kindness.
Do you?

Hey Team Gift of Shared Kindness,
It’s been a week since I mailed physical and electronic versions of GoSK. Thanks again for your interest. Please let me know if you have not received your copy. Next week I’ll share a short electronic request for feedback…an opportunity for you to cover any blind spots. :)
We are always the projection of the reflection.
My goodness what a great list of questions. I borrowed most if not all of those from other fellow travelers. I love that you're sharing them. Like "it's not the recipe it's the cook" each question stands on it's on filtered through the interpretations of the questioner or in purest sense in K's lingo the observer/observing.
