Goal setting aim high
Soaring upward almost there
The wild blue yonder
~Christiane Wood
Dear Chris,
Would you like to swing on a star?
Carry moonbeams home in a jar?
We spent hundreds of days together in a classroom, and on a playground, encouraging children to pump their little legs, hearts, and minds. Perhaps what I’ve never shared is that during our years together… You were teaching me, too.
I watched closely as you took a swing for the fences, connected, and landed yourself in an entirely new stadium. You’ve never been one to limit yourself… often aiming for the wild blue yonder. Thank you for showing me, and everyone that you touch, that with focus, effort, and a willingness to ignore the naysayers, it can be done.
With perseverance and persistence, you taught kindergartners by day and mothered daughters, dogs, cats, bunnies, frogs and… wasn’t there once a captured chipmunk in the mix?… by night. Somehow on top of that schedule you managed to attend classes, write a dissertation, and earn a doctorate from a university that educates students working at the highest levels.
Now you teach those who teach the wee ones.
Thank you for adding your inspired spirit to Flourishing Fictions.
You make me want to be a better person.
Gratitude and Love,
Gail
Wowza! Or, Yikes? Scorched by the afterburners of two great people.
Hope to see you “somewhere over the rainbow.”
