Celebrate the little joys!
Henrietta played fetch yesterday.
I watched in amazement as she retrieved a tennis ball upwards of ten times before performing her signature move of sliding cheek first into the grass.
The retriever retrieves!
If you haven’t guessed….this is a new skill for Henri.
Usually when we throw a ball she’ll go pick it up and plop down, or run in another direction. We don’t know if she’s confused, or being intentionally uncooperative.
She’s often distracted by birds, bees and butterflies.
But yesterday….Game On!
I recently shared a call with a new friend from The Creative’s Workshop.
His creative endeavor is learning with others about Healthy Human Nature. He stopped me in my tracks when his reply to my How are you? was……
I’m doing my best.
In the The Art of Possibility, authors Roseamund Stone Zander and Ben Zander explore the idea of giving everyone an “A”
immediately
…including yourself.
When retiring Justice Thurgood Marshall was asked what accomplishment he was most proud of he replied, “That I did the best I could with what I had.”
What does
“I am doing my best,”
shift for you?
Do you think you learn more from books or from Henrietta?
Ha! For me the thing that immediately comes to mind is, "How can I do better?" Kind of warped, if I do say so myself!
Congrats on Henri's progress!! 👍
