Thalia’s slump had disappointment written all over it. Her chin rested on the table. “Two… Only two replies to yesterday’s Guess the Muse contest?”
“We’ll just have to keep trying,” said Urania. “Sit up and put on a happy face Tal. We are not the slouching kind.”
“And only one response was correct!” Thalia defied Urania’s direction. Sometimes the heart has to feel what the heart has to feel. All feelings pass in time.
“That means we’re only shipping one book today.” Urania scratched her head looked at her neatly printed list of who has received author copies. “Fine, fine. Day one, one book. There’s no place to go but up. I’ll get started on a five-point-plan for our next contest.”
Calliope rubbed her hands together and rested them on her tummy. “Not so fast. I have a feeling that we should just keep painting and writing. Remember the video from yesterday? Keep practicing our throws and eventually the catches will take care of themselves.”
Congrats Gary!
Is it clear who is who now?
“Keep practicing our throws and eventually the catches will take care of themselves.” That’s a fine description of life. Perhaps the recent use of painting to illustrate your Born Free Newsletters has resonated with my “draw inside the lines” efforts from childhood! That is, Muse characteristics seem to stand out, allowing me to see patterns in their interactions and expressions of free will!
The “free will” comment is a teaser line. I hope to hear how Thalia responds to it.
I sure didn't know! LOL
