You see, I was rolling dough and mixing blueberries with cinnamon and sugar for a pie. Kacey Musgraves song Butterflies played on Spotify. Something about the lyrics….stuck a Born Free landing….
untangled all the strings that ‘round my wings were tied
lifting me up ‘stead of holding me down
Aha! I thought….a beginning for tomorrow’s letter. C’mon world—send me some pieces I can weave together.
A yellow swallowtail flitted around patio planters while I read Pressfield’s War of Art.
and
A pair of monarchs fluttered with a white winged flyer while Henny and I walked through a field of purple clover.
and
I didn’t get a photo.
Do you know how incredibly difficult it is to photograph flittering, fluttering butterflies?
That’s okay though,
because I already had a perfect photo.
May your day be filled with flits and flutters.
You have everything you need.
More Kacey….Rainbow
Hurrah on the dipper sighting! Bear in mind that all the other stars in our galaxy appear to revolve around the North Star. So later on in the night the rest of the Little Dipper would be spatially relocated.
Happy Dipping;)
Beautiful! We can jinx digital traces of our images, but you demonstrate how memory can be pretty tenacious! One can plant milkweed which the adult monarchs munch on then spin cocoons to renew the cycle with migrations to mountain tops in Mexico. Some take overland routes but others leave the US and fly across the Gulf of Mexico! Thanks for today’s journey, Gail.
