Do you have a curious and open mind?
I’ve never been a fan of bumper stickers.
I find them unsightly, and they often serve as a showy announcement of an ideology.
As America heads toward another election, I notice an increase in politically themed bumper adornments.
They create an immediate impression, of the car’s driver, don’t they?
Our minds are wired to draw conclusions?
Here’s another Anthony De Mello meditation from Awakening:
The Master was allergic to ideologies.
“In a war of ideas,” he said, “it is people who are the casualties.”
Later he elaborated, “People kill for money or for power. But the most ruthless murderers are those who kill for their ideas.”
My challenge is to remain curious despite labels.
You too?
