“Just look at those cute little rascals,” Calliope crooned.
“The neighbor’s ducks might not think they’re so cute?” Urania shrugged. A quick search told her raccoons eat songbirds, ducks, chickens, and eggs.
Thalia couldn’t pass up an opportunity to share one of her all time favorite wisdoms, “Everything can be this; everything can be that… Chang Tsu.”
“That’s all we’ve got today?” asked the Muse of Many Questions.
“Easing back into the flow,” said Urania. Even the muse’s task master had grown used to sipping coffee and reading instead of writing. “We’ll slip back in on baby paws.”
There is a lot to be said for "easing." Today's BFN brought back a memory from my youth of raccoons. Brought home from work by my dad after their mother was struck by a car near a co-worker's farm. Cute little rascals to be sure. As it was the 50s, one was named "Elvis", the other "Cooney." The latter was a derivative from "Clooney." Not George. Rather, Rosemary, a pop singer of that era. George's aunt. While wonderful pets at first, as they neared maturity, their natural instincts became apparent, so we released them into the wild. Thanks for the memory!
